Everyone on social media is praising President Obama for the speech on gay marriage. His position hasn’t really changed: He thinks it’s tolerable, and it should be up to the states to decide. Sound familiar? A candidate gets elected and they leave it up to the states to make the decision. As it should be. But of course you’re all going to praise him. It’s a re-election bid. He has stalled the subject for four years, and he’s going to stall it again for the next four if he gets re-elected. A federal appeal for recognition of gay marriage would be nearly impossible to pass. Maybe one day, when the kids of today have grown up and out of their fantasy world where the notion of commercial enterprise is considered dishonest and the making of profit is immoral, the “religious freaks” you all preach against will calm down. Stop paying attention to social issues. It’s the economy, stupid
